Into the Abyss, Peek into the Disturbed Brain of the Genius!

When I see the intricacies of life in this world, I am moved by how perfectly it all fits together.  Each animal species alive today is changing the next, and they seem much less like adversaries to me than brothers, all helping each other to change and grow in new and exciting ways never before seen.  They make each other stronger, faster, and smarter with each passing generation.

It leaves me to wonder where we as people fit into the scope of the Master’s great plan. Are we truly here to rule over the animals with an iron fist?  Surely we are animals too.  Or are we instead sheppards of God’s other flocks, put here in part to both guide and protect our simpler cousins until He Himself returns to claim them?  Does in fact the Creator of this world (as told of by the American Indian peoples) care for, and even grieve the animals of this planet?  Or did He simply spin the ball and leave us all to our own fate, leaving each of us to decide everyday how we treat both each other and every other type of denizen this world holds.   Is it ultimately up to us to account for both our actions and the actions of humanity?  Or are we called only on our own choices, standing alone when the last judgment is made? In the end, whatever one truly believes, we are but guests here in this blue orb of life, and how long it takes to wear out our welcome us ultimately up to all of us.

I will leave each visitor with this final quote, and hope that in the end we will live the dream seen by great men such as Chief Seattle, Dr. King, and countless nameless others who believe that all men are created equal, not different races of being, but instead men who are mearly different shades of paint in the great tapestry we all share.  I see only human beings, no different to me than a rainbow of horses in a field are, I see one nation, under God.

“for even the white man whose God walked and talked with him as friend to friend, cannot be exempt from the common destiny.

We may be brothers after all. We will see.“

-Chief Seattle

The main author of this site has been a nut for animals since before she could walk.  An occupational hazard of farm life, she has had a front row seat to some unbelievable events and growing up in the Pacific Northwest only adds to the experience.  With decades of hands on experience in the topics covered here, we hope to take you on a practical and accurate journey throughout the animal kingdom.  Some people may take umbrage with our opinions, but everything expressed here is both sincere and is the direct result of actual experience.  The resident “genius” is a practicing and educated farrier specializing in the treatment of extreme lame nesses, and has spent decades working with dogs of all breeds both inside and out of the confirmation ring.  She owns a farm and stud stables which includes five stallions and over twenty mares, (not to mention numerous miscellaneous creatures that span the spectrum of God’s amazing masterpiece which is life on this blue planet).
